70's overload

For a quick minute I hadn't given the 70's the attention it so clearly deserves as a ridiculous decade since Fashion Tops. Anyway, instead of studying for art history I stumbled upon possibly the greatest website I have ever seen, called Stuck in the 70's. Thank god for that because I really needed to know how Farrah got her glamorous hair.

Here are some gems but I highly recommend you waste some of your life looking at everything else they've put up. There appears to be a slight obsession with the Osmond brothers (e.g. "THE GIRL WHO CAME BETWEEN THEM!") but we can overlook that easily(ish).

I hadn't realized that Wendy Richards had passed on to the big television box in the sky last week at the age of 65 after fighting breast cancer. She played Miss Brahms in Are You Being Served? alongside the most fabulous John Inman. (Pegasus wishes he were as fabulous as Mr Humphries.)
Here is my favorite episode of the show, called "Cold Comfort" when, in an effort to save some money, Mr Grace turns off the heat for a day and Mr Lucas puts some mittens on his feet.

First of all, wtf why is iTunes terms of agreement constantly changing. I stopped reading all that shit a long time ago and just go ahead and tick the box. I don't even bother to scroll anymore. I used to do that and pretend to skim to make me feel better but I've gotten way too lazy for that. I know I'm not supposed to read contracts and so on and I've probably just signed over my soul to Steve Jobs, but I just want my Cancion de la Semana!

I suggest after looking through these, you make an appointment with your hair stylist immediately. This applies to the males, females, and shemales (remember, Lance thinks you're ALL beautiful) amongst us. Images [link]

'bout time

OMG I can't believe I've never bothered to watch the video for this. I thought Youtube couldn't get better after the kitten eating broccoli, but we must all remember that the 70's will just continue to amaze us (er, me) forever.

I hope you all appreciate this as it took me nearly all morning to sort through and scan these images of beautiful 70's fashion and wonderfulness. No copyright infringement intended, etc. etc. because these scans are from Irene Kleeberg's 1975 book Fashion Tops. Which is actually great.

un mélange

I know that this blog can sometimes be pretty 80's orientated, but I'm not a decade-hata and I sincerely wish I lived in the 70's and had hair like Farah Fawcett.

Apart from the music, television, movies and everything else about the 70's, what I like best about the decade is the sewing pattern and catalogue books. Here are some of my favorite 70's adverts and other things.

(I actually can't look that turtle in the eye because we dissected one today. Sad.)
